Answer: Use Microsoft Outlook to store contacts, and use the Nokia PC Suite to synchronize phone to PC. Watch this tutorial video:

  • Note:
    • for Symbian OS s40 or s60 Nokia cellphones only.
    • the procedure described below must be done twice, first with the old phone with existing contacts, second with the brand new or newly reset phone. Dial *#7370# on any Symbian OS phone to reset (deletes ALL content).
    • if both phones have contacts, store each phone's contacts in separate folders. Once synched to the same phone the contacts will mix without doubling entries that have the exact same names.
  • You will need:
    • Microsoft Outlook
    • Nokia PC Suite
    • compatible USB cable(s)
    • 1 or 2 Nokia cellphones, atleast one of them with contacts content

Step 1: Download the Nokia PC Suite:

  • Tagalog Version found Here
  • Restart PC after installing to avoid errors

Step 2: Open Microsoft Outlook:
  1. Click 'Contacts' tab at the lower left corner
  2. Right Click 'contacts' folder at upper left
  3. Click 'new folder' and name (ex. urname date)
  4. Click 'ok' to save
  5. Close Microsoft Outlook
Step 3: Load contacts of old phone to Microsoft Outlook

  2. Connect PC and phone thru USB cable
  3. select 'pc suite' on phone
  4. Once PC recognizes phone:
    • Click 'sync' icon
    • close any prompts to update software now
    • Click wrench icon
    • untick calendar, tasks, bookmark and file and folder items
    • Note that on subsequent synchronizations using the same phone, a 'wrench with a star' icon must also be clicked to reset synchronixation settings.
    • untick calendar, tasks, bookmark and file folder items
    • Click 'right arrow' icon to turn the page
  5. check that the application to be accessed is in fact Microsoft Outlook by clicking the tab
  6. click 'right arrow' icon to turn the page
  7. click 'open folder' icon
  8. click third and highlighted 'open folder' icon to access folders
  9. click 'plus' to expand contacts root folder
  10. click the folder that you want to store the contacts of your old phone in, or the folder that contains the contacts you want to load to your new phone
  11. click 'right arrow' to turn the page
  12. click 'right arrow' to close the window
  13. click 'right arrow' to start synchronization
  14. monitor synchronization progress on the window
  15. click 'check' icon to close windows once synchronization is complete

Step 4:
  • Reset your old phone by dialing *#7370# and your security/lock code. The phone will delete all contents and restart.
    or

Step 5:
  • Repeat Steps 1-3 with newly reset or brand new nokia symbian os phone.
